A Frascati si lavora per creare l’energia pulita, quella delle stelle.Un’energia nucleare pulita, senza scorie né emissioni. E’ l’obiettivo della fusione nucleare, che al contrario della fissione, vuole fondere l’atomo invece che spezzarlo, per ottenere le reazioni che alimentano le stelle. Un progetto ambizioso e ricco di ostacoli, ma che potrà forse essere realizzato proprio grazie ai laboratori ENEA di Frascati. Programma di Cooperazione Adriatica Trans-Frontaliera-IPA 2007-2013. Il Programma di Cooperazione Adriatica Trans- Frontaliera (IPA) ha come obiettivo generale quello di rafforzare le capacità di sviluppo sostenibile della regione Adriatica attraverso una strategia concertata di azioni comune fra i soggetti dei territori che rientrano nel Programma. Possono essere beneficiari della sovvenzione gli enti pubblici, quali autorità nazionali, regionali e locali ed altri soggetti pubblici ma anche organizzazioni private, incluse le imprese: qualsiasi impresa (no profit o con scopi commerciali) che sia costituito secondo il diritto privato dello Stato. Drones fight Forest Fires.Forest fires in the summer cause the loss of thousands of hectares of forest every year and threaten human lives. Most threatened are the firefighters who have to work in extremely difficult situations. The European-Union funded project Microdrones provides them with lifesaving insights.These small and light flying robots can fly with a height of 150 m and survey the location, going to the heart of the fire. Going where human beings can´t go and seeing what the firefighters cannot see, the sophisticated cameras can locate the worst of the blaze and guide emergency services on dangerous grounds.
How technology can bring people together.EU-funded researchers are developing new technologies that will improve how people nurture and develop their relationships. The TA2 (‘Together anywhere, together anytime’) project, supported under the ‘Information Communications and Technologies’ Thematic area of the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), will bring rewarding and attractive media experiences to Europeans by enhancing and supporting technology.
