Technologies

IES Solutions has a long track of experience on the following Open Source and Commercial technologies:

OPEN SOURCE

Our Technologies

WEB GIS

  • Google Maps: is a web mapping service application and technology provided by Google (https://maps.google.it/).
  • OpenStreetMap (OSM) is a collaborative project to create a free editable map of the world. The maps are created using data from portable GPS devices, aerial photography, other free sources or simply from local knowledge. The data is available under the Open Database License. (http://www.openstreetmap.org).
  • GeoServer: GeoServer is a Java-based software server that allows users to view and edit geospatial data. Using open standards set forth by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), GeoServer allows for great flexibility in map creation and data sharing.(http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/Welcome).
  • Mapserver: MapServer is an Open Source platform for publishing spatial data and interactive mapping applications to the web. (http://mapserver.org/)

Web Services

  • Java: is an object-oriented programming language (http://www.java.com/).
  • Apache HTTP Server: is the most popular, modular and open source web server software available for a wide variety of operating systems, including UNIX/Linux and Microsoft (http://httpd.apache.org/).
  • Apache Tomcat: Apache Tomcat is an open source web server and servlet container that allows you to serve Java Servlets and JSP (Java Server Pages) web applications. Tomvat provides a ‘pure Java’ HTTP web server environment for Java code to run (http://tomcat.apache.org/).
  • Apache Axis2: is an Open Source implementation of the SOAP (‘Simple Object Access Protocol’) protocol. It is a Web Services/SOAP/WSDL engine, the successor to the widely used Apache Axis SOAP stack. (http://axis.apache.org/axis2/java/core/).

Atom Feed

  • Apache Hadoop: provide an open-source implementation of frameworks for reliable, scalable, distributed computing and data storage.(http://hadoop.apache.org/).
  • Apache Abdera: is an Open Source implementation of the Atom Syndication Format and Atom Publishing Protocol, which are standards for creating, editing, and publishing web feeds and other web resources. (http://abdera.apache.org/).

Storage

  • MySQL: is the world’s most used open source relational database management system (RDBMS) that runs as a server providing multi-user access to a number of databases. (http://www.mysql.it/).
  • PostgreSQL: is an object-relational database management system (ORDBMS) released under the PostgreSQL License and is thus free and open source software. (http://www.postgresql.org/) .
  • PostGIS: spatial database extension for PostgreSQL released under the GPL license. (http://postgis.refractions.net/).

Web Interface

  • PHP: server-side HTML embedded scripting language. It provides web developers a full suite of tools for building dynamic websites (http://www.php.net/).
  • Cake PHP: is an open source web application framework written in PHP(http://cakephp.org/).

Cloud & Infrastructures

  • Docker: Docker is a software platform that allows you to build, test, and deploy applications quickly. (https://www.docker.com)
  • OpenStack: gives you a modular cloud infrastructure that runs off standard hardware—letting you deploy the tools you need, when you need them, all from one place. (www.openstack.org)
  • Kubernetes: is an open-source container-orchestration system for automating deployment, scaling and management of containerized applications. (https://kubernetes.io)
