AlpDIRIS Project : Training on the implementation of the Italy-Slovenia transboundary collaboration protocol and the solutions supporting mountain rescue activities

During the workshop in Palmanova, at PCRFVG premises, the tools developed within AlpDIRIS to support the information exchange needs during cooperation in cross-border emergencies were tested: Jixel-Manager, developed by IES and DISP, developed by HITEC. The digital implementation of the cooperation protocol for EMER forms exchange was tested in a number of emergency scenarios, described hereafter.


NAFTES: 4th meeting and Multiplier Event in Catania with the collaboration of DRPC Sicilia

On 9-10 May there was the fourth Transnational Meeting of the project NAFTES at the IES Solutions headquarters in Catania.


18th Conference PSCE

On 23-24 May, the 18th PSCE conference will be held in Brussels (Belgium), during the event the topic: "Use of Satellite for Critical Situation" will be discussed.


NAFTES: 3rd Transnational Meeting and 1st Multiplier Event

Representatives of external organisations have been able to fully understand the project and the functionalities of the platform, both in terms of content and applications (especially e-learning and Augmented Reality). The participants also tested firsthand the AR application of NAFTES.


RAWFIE: second project review successfully held

The second project review of the RAWFIE project (Road-, Air- and Water- based Future Internet Experimentation) has been successfully held on October the 18th, 2017 in Brussels, at EC premises.
During the review, the project members presented the results of the second project period, focused on the development of the second and third version of the platform prototype, including the integration of new Testbeds and UxV (Unmanned Vehicles).


I_HeERO project: TPSP to PSAP eCall data exchange demo

The eCall development is moving forward: a demonstration event about TPSPs (Third Party Service Providers) and PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Point) eCall data exchange was held on November the 7h, 2017 in Varese, Italy, at the CUR 112 (Centrale Unica di Risposta 112 - a PSAP). eCall is the service that allows the sending of a message from a vehicle to emergency services in case of need.


5 November: Tsunami Awareness Day

Some events may work as a natural alarm of a tsunami: to know these signals may save your life and that of people near you. On 26 December 2004, Tilly Smith, a 10 yo English girl, was on holiday at Maikhao Beach (Thailand). A few days before departing, her geography teacher had a lesson on tsunamis, their behaviour and their characteristics. When Tilly saw the water receding from the shoreline and frothing bubbles on the surface of the sea, she alerted her parents, which informed other perople and the hotel staff. The shore was evacuated before the tide arrived at the beach, and Maikhao was one of the few beaches where no death was registered.


The report of the 2017 CAP Workshop has been published

The Workshop was hosted by the Italian National Fire Corps and co-sponsored by the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the OASIS standards organization, and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). There were 72 experts from 20 countries.


CAP Implementation Workshop 2017

The 2017 edition of the CAP Implementation Workshop was held in Rome last 20 and 21 September. The Workshop offered the opportunity to share information, ideas and trends about data exchange, CAP use and public alerting.


I_HeERO project: TPSP to PSAP eCall data integration Pilot on 7th Nov

The pilot phase will show the results accomplished in the i_HeERO Data integration activity, featuring the seamless integration between three different TPSP (Third Party Service Provider) and the 112 PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) in Varese.


EmerGent project Final Review

On 7th September, in Dortmund (Germany), the EmerGent project will have its Final Review. The project, of which IES is part of the consortium, studied the use of social media during emergencies, and the identification and integration of valuable information from social media.

The 5th plenary meeting of RAWFIE (Road-, Air-, and Water- based Future Internet Experimentation) is being held in Tremestieri Etneo (Catania), at IES Solutions premises.


IES Solutions within EENA’s Who-is-Who Guide

We are pleased to announce that, on June 2017, IES Solutions has been included in the Who-is-Who guide of EENA (European Emergency Number Association).


Common Information Space Event in Brussels

Three EU-funded projects (SECTOR, EPISECC and SecInCoRe) shared their points of view about several aspects of the Common Information Space. One of the main panels was focussed on three fundamental aspects of an information sharing space:
a "Pan-European inventory", which collects information about past disasters and provides useful lesson learnt; taxonomies, a crucial concept for a complete understanding of the message between different organisations and different languages; standardisation, another pillar in the field of information sharing, as well as several other domains


IES at the PSCE Conference in Munich

On 3 May, PSCE and the EPISECC project will also organise a workshop on standardization in the premises of the German Red Cross in Munich. The workshop will be focused on the importance for EU projects to put more efforts on standardisation activities in order to bring innovation adapted to the fast-changing market.


I_HeERO Project meeting in Lisbon

Tomorrow, 31 March, the Activity 4 Project Meeting of the I_HeERO project will be held in Lisbon, Portugal. The project (Infrastructure Harmonised eCall European Pilot) aims at the development of the infrastructure needed for the implementation of the eCall service. The Activity 4, "Data Integration", deals with the integration of the data exchanged between the different actors during an eCall.


RAWFIE project Technical Meeting in Athens

Among the topics, the integration of new Testbeds and UxVs (Unmanned Vehicles), towards the first operational prototype of the platform in June.


CEN Workshop: Terminologies in crisis and disaster management
